Welcome to the revamped Harvardcup.com and the Harvard Cup League's start of its 100th season. This year both the League and Harvardcup.com have some great events planned for you.

On September 6, the Burgard "Blue" Bulldogs open the 2003 campaign with an historic meeting with the Msgr. Martin League's O'Hara squad at 2 PM. The game marks the first in a series of six "non-divisional" clashes for the Harvard Cup League. These games will be the first, other than a handful over the years, regularly scheduled non-City opponents since the 1928 season.

Look for the same great coverage you've grown to expect from Harvardcup.com with features, stats, scores, and pictures that you just can't get anywhere else on the subject of City high school football.

This season something special will be an addition of what we hope will be a popular feature on Harvardcup.com. Our website goes "Back to the Future" courtesy of the pen of Dr. Robert T. Weigand, Sr. as he chronicles the day to day events that lead up to the 50th Anniversary of the East Orientals' 1953 Harvard Cup Championship.

As you will come to find over the season, the 1953 season was a special one. Not only did it mark the Harvard Cup's 50th Anniversary, but it marked the start of a football dynasty at the school on Northhampton. Log on to Harvardcup.com frequently to check on the Orientals drive to the Cup!

The Harvard Cup will host its 2nd Hall of Fame Induction and "Fame Games" on Saturday, September 20th at downtown Buffalo's Dunn Tire Park. At 10 AM the Lafayette "Mighty" Violets take on the Grover Cleveland Presidents in a showdown for the Mineo & Sapio Cup honoring Lafayette High's 100th Anniversary. The second game features Hutch-Tech taking on the McKinley Macks to celebrate Hutchinson-Central's 150th birthday. The Valu Home Center kickoff is slated for 2 PM. The Harvard Cup Induction Luncheon will take place between the two games. Purchase luncheon and game tickets by calling 851-3596 for details.

Remember, you can listen to all of the Harvard Cup's exciting action starting on Saturday, September 14 with the Sorrento Cheese Harvard Cup Game of the Week brought to you by Comeshome, Inc. Tune to 1440 AM WJJL for all of the action every Saturday at 2 PM. The "Voice of the Harvard Cup" Rich Kozak, along with Chuck Dockery, Dr. John Pluta, and Roger Weiss will take you along all the way from the first snap to the 100th Championship Game on Thanksgiving Day.
